Pension Bill Tighens Rules Over Time, NY Times Reports
The New York Times reports that the federal pension overhaul actually does tighten rules for the funding of pension plans, but only over time. In the first years of the bill, which President Bush has promised to sign soon, companies get a break in funding their pension plans. But within the next decade, the Congressional Budget Office projects that companies will put far more money into the system.
